Description

Application
Sodium tripolyphosphate is used as a detergent, as an additive, soap enhancer, and to prevent soap crystallization and frost. It is also an effective dispersant for industrial water softeners, leather pre tanning agents, dyeing aids, oil well mud control agents, oil stain prevention agents for paper making, and suspension treatment of paints, kaolin, magnesium oxide, calcium carbonate, and other materials. Food grade sodium tripolyphosphate can be used as a food improver for various fish and meat products, and as a clarifying agent for beverages.
It is soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is strongly alkaline; insoluble in ethanol and carbon disulfide.
