Description

Benzaldehyde is a compound formed by directly connecting an aldehyde group with a benzene group. Due to its similar bitter almond-like fragrance, it was once called bitter almond oil. Benzaldehyde is widely present in the plant kingdom, especially in Rosaceae plants. It is mainly present in the stems, skins, leaves or seeds of plants in the form of glycosides, such as amygdalin in bitter almonds, cherries, laurel leaves, and peach pits. Benzaldehyde is naturally present in essential oils such as bitter almond oil, patchouli oil, hyacinth oil, and ylang-ylang oil.

enzaldehyde is an important raw material for the pharmaceutical, dye, flavoring and resin industries. It has a wide range of applications: it can be used as a solvent, plasticizer and low-temperature lubricant, and plays an important role in the pharmaceutical, dye, flavoring and resin industries.

1. Application in the flavoring industry: mainly used for blending edible flavorings, and a small amount is used in daily chemical flavorings and tobacco flavorings. It can be used as a special head note flavoring agent, and is used in trace amounts in flower fragrance formulas such as lilac, jasmine and orange blossom.

2. Application in the food industry: it is stipulated as a temporarily permitted edible flavoring in GB2760--1996 and is mainly used for blending almond, cherry, peach and other types of flavorings, and can also be used as an aroma agent for canned sugar water cherries.

3. Application in agriculture: it is an intermediate for herbicides such as wild oats and plant growth regulators such as antifoaming amine, and is used in the agricultural field.

4. Chemical raw material: an important chemical raw material, used for preparing linalool, linalyl acetate, benzaldehyde, benzyl benzoate, etc.

5. Laboratory use: used for determining ozone, phenol, alkaloids and methylene groups adjacent to carboxyl groups and other reagents.
