Calcium D-PantothenateDescription
Calcium pantothenate exists in three forms due to its chiral carbon atoms: DL form (mixed form), D-form (right-handed form), and L-form (left-handed form). Only D-calcium pantothenate has biological activity, appearing as white or slightly yellow needle shaped crystals or powder, with a melting point of 195-196 ℃ (according to chemical books), soluble in water, methanol, glycerol, slightly soluble in ethanol and acetone, hygroscopic, slightly sweet, but turning slightly bitter. In terms of chemical stability, it is most stable in aqueous solutions with pH values between 5 and 7, more stable in air and sunlight, and less stable in acids and bases.

Application
Nutritional supplements: Calcium pantothenate is an essential trace substance for maintaining normal physiology in both humans and animals, mainly used in medicine, food additives, and feed additives.
Vitamin drugs: Calcium pantothenate is a component of coenzyme A and participates in the metabolism of proteins, fats, and sugars in the body. Can be used to treat vitamin B deficiency and peripheral neuropathy, as well as postoperative colic. Combined use with vitamin C can treat disseminated lupus erythematosus.
Other uses: In special nutritional foods, the usage of calcium pantothenate must be below 1% (calculated as calcium). In addition, it can also be used to enhance the flavor of soju and whiskey, prevent honey from crystallizing in winter, and buffer the bitterness of caffeine and saccharin.
